Dental Checkups & Teeth Cleanings
If you want your smile to feel like brand new, just come see us for a checkup and cleaning. Your dentist will take a close look at your teeth and gums so they can spot any decay or damage during its earliest stages, enabling them to take care of it before it causes you a real headache. And, our hygienist will thoroughly polish and clean your teeth, removing harmful plaque buildup while also breaking up minor surface stains on the enamel.
Fluoride Treatments
Fluoride is one of the strongest weapons in the fight against tooth decay. When this mineral is exposed to the teeth, it instantly repairs minor damage and makes them more resistant to decay. On top of using a fluoridated toothpaste at home, we can give our patients’ dental health a huge boost by providing a topical fluoride treatment at their regular checkups, literally giving them an extra layer of cavity protection that will last until we see them again.
Oral Cancer Screening
Oral cancer, despite being a potentially deadly disease, often goes unnoticed during its early stages, meaning many patients don’t see or feel anything until it is quite advanced and difficult to treat. We want to keep our patients protected, so we perform a cancer screening with the VELscope at every regular checkup. This special light causes cancerous and potentially cancerous cells to actually illuminate, helping us see trouble spots that would normally be hidden from the naked eye. With it, we can help patients get the care they need as soon as possible.
Nightguards for Bruxism
Do you usually wake up with a sore jaw or headache? If so, then you may be suffering from bruxism, or nighttime teeth grinding. We can use an at-home test with the StatDDS monitor to determine whether or not this is happening, and if necessary, we can provide a patient with something called a nightguard. This small oral appliance prevents any harmful grinding by placing a thin barrier between the rows of teeth.
Sleep Apnea Therapy
Constantly exhausted? Can’t seem to get enough sleep? Frequently find yourself on the couch because of your loud snoring? Our StatDDS monitor can help you figure out if these symptoms are due to a serious sleep disorder called sleep apnea. You simply sleep with the small device for one night, and based on its findings, we can determine whether or not you could benefit from wearing a sleep appliance at night. This will keep your airway open while you sleep so you can get the quality rest you need to feel energized in the morning. It can also help you stop snoring as well!
TMJ Therapy
If symptoms like a stiff jaw, frequent headaches, or constant earaches are common for you, then you may be suffering from a TMJ disorder. The TMJ (temporomandibular joint) is the small set of hinges that enables your lower jaw to move in all directions, and it can sometimes develop inflammation and pain due to injury, arthritis, or a misaligned bite. We can directly address this kind of pain using our Biolase Epic X laser, targeting and relaxing strained muscles so patients can enjoy instant relief.
Botox
Often, symptoms like persistent headaches, a sore jaw, and even teeth grinding are the result of strained, spasming muscles located around the TMJ. Our team is able to fix these kinds of problems long-term, but for patients in need of immediate relief from facial pain, the solution may come in a familiar form: Botox. The same product used to eliminate facial wrinkles can also calm painful muscles and help patients overcome TMJ pain so they can get back to their normal lives symptom-free.
